Rochester City Offices To Close For Thanksgiving

Refuse and recycling collection delayed by one day; 311 call center closed Thursday.

Rochester City Hall, Neighborhood Service Centers and administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The 311 Call Center will also be closed from 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 until 7 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27.

Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed one day on both Thursday and Friday (Thursday’s collection will be picked up on Friday, Friday’s collection will be picked up on Saturday.)

City branch libraries and Rochester Animal Services will also be closed on Thursday but will return to pandemic-related adjusted operations on Friday. City operations and hours have been adjusted as a result of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s announcement that portions of the city of Rochester have been upgraded to a COVID-19 Orange Zone.

City library buildings are closed to the public due to the pandemic and curbside pickup will resume from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The Animal Services animal shelter, 184 Verona St. will resume in-person customer service by appointment for pet adoptions and lost-pet recovery from 11 a.m.to 4 p.m. Friday.

Also due to the pandemic, the Learning Labs at City R-Centers will close Wednesday. Nine R-Centers will be converted to student meal-distribution for sites beginning Monday, Nov. 30.
