The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Ice Rink, located at 353 Court St., will be open from Saturday, January 9 through Sunday, March 14, 2021. Due to COVID restrictions, capacity will be limited to 50 individuals on the rink for each skating session. Capacity will also be limited inside the building, so patrons are encouraged to come prepared and fully dressed for outdoor skating.

The MLK rink will be open Monday – Saturday for five one-hour skating sessions beginning at noon until 9 p.m., as well as on Sundays for four one-hour skating sessions between noon and 7 p.m. There will be a one hour break between each session to allow for cleaning and disinfecting, as well as to facilitate the flow of traffic and prevent an overlap of participants.

Due to the pandemic and the shortened skating season, admission fees and season passes at the MLK Ice Rink have been reduced. Skating sessions will be $3 for adults; $1 for youth age 17 and under; $2 for college students with ID; and $10 dollars for families (up to two adults and four children). Season passes are available for $30 and $20 value passes are also available for purchase. Skate rentals are $3, however sizes and quantities are limited. Customers are highly recommended to bring their own skates whenever possible.

The Genesee Valley Sports Complex Ice Rink, located at 131 Elmwood Ave., is scheduled to reopen on Monday, Jan. 11 through Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021. The ice rink, which originally opened for the season in September, was closed on Nov. 25 due to rising COVID rates in our region. The reopened facility will have a reduced capacity of 75 individuals on the rink during each skate session. The lobby will remain closed, so customers should come dressed and prepared to skate.

Genesee Valley Ice Rink will resume its normal hours of operation and open skate schedule. Fees will remain the same as those in effect prior to the Nov. shutdown.
