Rye Among Best Places To Raise A Family: 2021 Niche Rankings

RYE, NY — Rye is one of the best places in the United States to raise a family, according to Niche.com's 2021 survey.

The rankings were based on public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities. Data from the U.S. Census, FBI, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were also factored in.

Here's what Niche had to say about Rye, which received an overall grade of A+:

Rye is a suburb of New York City with a population of 15,820. Rye is in Westchester County and is one of the best places to live in New York. Living in Rye offers residents an urban suburban mix feel and most residents own their homes. In Rye there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many families live in Rye and residents tend to lean conservative. The public schools in Rye are highly rated.

In this year's rankings, one Hudson Valley community was listed among the top 100 places for families across the United States: Chappaqua, clocking in at No. 87 nationally.

On the list of top places for families in New York State, four communities in Westchester are in the top 20. Here are their state rankings.
