BBP St. Patrick's Day Parade Postponed, Could Face Cancellation
Organizers are trying to determine if the next St. Patrick's Day parade can happen sometime in 2021.
BAYPORT-BLUE POINT, NY — With St. Patrick's Day a month away and Long Island still in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, officials have announced that the annual Bayport-Blue Point will be postponed and could possibly be canceled for the second year in a row.
GreaterSayville reports that parade Chairperson Lenore Ringer-Prezioso confirmed the event will not be held in March the Sunday before the holiday as it typically is, for 2021. An alternative date has not yet been announced.
Organizers are still trying to determine if they can even still hold the parade sometime before the next St. Patrick's Day in March 2022, according to the report.
