Blizzard Warning Issued For Suffolk County
BREAKING: Travel will be very dangerous to impossible on Thursday, the National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Service has now issued a blizzard warning for Suffolk County as a paralyzing storm gets set to lash the region with heavy snow and damaging winds.
"Travel will be very dangerous to impossible, including during the morning and evening commutes on Thursday," says the blizzard warning, which will be in effect from 1 a.m. Thursday until 1 a.m. Friday.

Total snow accumulations of 8-12 inches with locally higher amounts are expected.
Winds gusting as high as 55 mph will cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow. Significant drifting of the snow is likely with drifts of up to 2-feet possible, especially in exposed areas. Damage to trees and power lines is also possible.
