Blue Point Crash Sends Police Officer to Hospital
Officer is treated and released after hospital visit.

A two-car collision in Blue Point Wednesday morning sent a Suffolk Police officer to the hospital, according to police.
The officer was travelling southbound on Division Avenue when a motorist approached a stop sign at the intersection of Division Avenue and Park Avenue, according to police.
The motorist said he tried to hit the brake but the vehicle slid on ice and struck the police car.
The officer was transported to the hospital and was treated and released. The other motorist refused medical treatment.Â
Suffolk Police did not release the names of the officer or driver.
