Blue Point Santa Run: What You Need To Know

The annual event will is set for this month and will look different due to the coronavirus pandemic.

BLUE POINT, NY — The Blue Point Fire Department will be hosting its annual Santa Run this month, although it will look different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event has been scheduled for Dec. 19 starting at noon. Firefighters and Santa will be going around the neighborhood to spread holiday cheer to local residents.

The fire department reminds residents that the run will not be going down dead end streets and are encouraged to watch from the nearest cross street.

According to the fire department, the event will be modified this year due to COVID-19.

While firefighters and Santa will not be able to take pictures with the kids this year, members of the fire department will be giving candy canes out to the kids in a safe manner.

They will also be accepting food donations at the event.
