Patch: The single most pressing issue facing our community is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Mullen: The high cost of living on Long Island. I will continue to keep costs down in Islip without sacrificing services for the taxpayers.
P: What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
M: Education, training and experience. My opponents have no experience in working in government. I’m a former Assistant District Attorney who prosecuted cases for the people of Suffolk County. With my legal background and four years on the Town Board, I will continue to be an advocate for the people of Islip.
P: Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
M: As the Town Board member on the opioid task force, I will continue to fight to end the opioid crisis within the Town of Islip. If elected, I will work to improve the infrastructure throughout the Town, including adding sewers, dredging of Browns River in Sayville, and paving of roads throughout the entire town.
P: What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
M: I helped secure funding for dredging of Homan’s Creek and for the Bayport Hamlet study. I worked to cut the costs of the animal shelter before we approved a bond to fund the construction. Such efforts show an ability to get the job done.
P: The best advice ever shared with me was ...
M: If you work hard, success will follow.
P: What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
M: I get results, and will continue to listen to what the people want in Islip.
