A Chilly Study at Academy

Students acted out familiar penguin-themed stories as part of month-long study.

Academy Elementary School first-grade students concluded their study of penguins with a black-and-white-themed event.

Students acted out familiar penguin-themed stories, including “Tacky the Penguin,” and showcased the art projects, original books and dioramas they created to demonstrate a penguin’s natural habitat. Additionally, while dressed in black and white clothing, the students enjoyed monochromatic-colored snacks while sharing their newfound knowledge with family and friends.

Throughout their month-long study, the students learned about the different types of penguins, average penguin measurements and even measured themselves to compare their height to different penguins, including the Little Blue Penguin and Emperor Penguin.
