Driver Suffers Minor Injuries in West Sayville Car Crash

A single vehicle crash in West Sayville Sunday morning sent the driver to the hospital, shut down Montauk Highway for several hours and caused a power outage for local residents.

Police say the car went off the road and hit a pole about 8:50 a.m. on Montauk Highway between Washington Avenue and Rollstone Avenue. A local resident told Patch power was out for about 45 minutes.

Police say the lone occupant, a female driver, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Details on her identify and status were not yet available at press time.
