SAYVILLE, NY —Four graduating high school seniors at Sayville High School were recognized for their post-graduation plans. The students have all committed to military service, and an annual tradition to recognize students choosing this path continued earlier this month at the High School Scholastic Awards Program.

On June 7, the four graduates were honored. Nicholas Buffardi will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Nicholas Gibbons heads to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. Meghan McLaughlin will also attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point this fall Aiden White will join the U.S. Marines.

Chief Bryan Coon, who is retired from the Navy, and the High School Technology/Business Department Chairperson led the tribute. He remembered the late Major General Dennis Fagan U.S. Army National Guard, who created the annual event and presided over it for years before retirement.
