SAYVILLE, NY— In response to a planned police support rally and march slated for Saturday in Sayville, a group called Long Island BlackWhiteBrownUnited (BWBU) will hold a counter-protest. Both the Back the Blue rally and the counter-protest will start at 12 p.m.

The BWBU event poster says "We will be attending a blue lives matter march to peacefully counter protest. Come stand with us in solidarity as we let our voices be heard."

One of the organizers of the Back the Blue rally told Patch earlier this week that he envisioned the police support march as a non-political and peaceful event and is urging attendees to follow Suffolk County police rules.
