BLUE POINT, NY - A local resident recently started a fundraiser to help a Blue Point family who lost their home in a devastating fire this past weekend.

On Sunday afternoon, the blaze broke out at the Corey Avenue home. Firefighters from the Blue Point and North Patchogue fire departments battled the fire for about an hour. No injuries were reported.

Then on Monday, Cortney Echevarria created the GoFundMe to help the residents of the home, the Bryant family, after they lost everything in the home.

"Let’s all come together and help this family out during these terrible times," Echevarria wrote. "Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated. No donation is too small."

Echevarria set a goal to raise $75,000 for the family. In just two days, the page has raised a total of $56,630.
