Local Band Student Makes All-Nation Ensemble
A Bayport-Blue Point High student is one of 17 in the state, first from the school to be accepted into the NAfME All-Nation Symphonic Band.

Bayport-Blue Point High School student-musician Cassandra Nielsen achieved a district milestone this September, as she is the first BBP student accepted into the NAfME All-Nation Symphonic Band.
Cassandra is one of seventeen band students in New York State to be awarded this honor. She received a NYSSMA score of 100 on her Level VI All-State clarinet solo the past two years. In addition, Cassandra was the principal clarinetist for the 2014-15 NYSSMA All-State Wind Ensemble.
Cassandra will now perform with many of the highest achieving music students across the nation during the festival in Nashville, Tennessee from October 25-28.
