Local Eatery Reopens After 2-Week Closure Due To Coronavirus Case

The Sayville Inn closed on Christmas Eve after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

SAYVILLE, NY — A local restaurant that closed down on Christmas Eve due after an employee tested positive for coronavirus, finally re-opened this week.

On Dec. 24, The Sayville Inn on 199 Middle Road, announced in a message on Facebook that "out of an abundance of caution," the business would be closed to help stop the spread of the virus.

"As of this morning, a member of the Sayville Inn family has tested positive for COVID-19," the message read.

On Monday, the 132-year-old business posted an updated message that after two weeks and a "comprehensive cleaning and sanitation process," the popular restaurant would reopen on Thursday.

Along with the reopening, the eatery will be bringing back its regular nightly specials, including our Family Meals starting Jan 13 and live music events on Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Customers can also pick up orders or pre-paid free touchless delivery to those living in Sayville and Bayport. The Sayville Inn is also offering pre-paid curbside drop off for all Family Meals and/or $25 minimum orders.
