Long Island Driver Taken To Hospital After Crashing Into Pole

A driver was transferred to the hospital with minor injuries after crashing into a pole on Lakeland Avenue in Sayville early Monday morning, fire officials said.

The Sayville Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle collision of a pick-up truck driving into a pole.

According to the department, "E1, E2, E5, R6, FP8 and Chiefs Giacoia and Karl responded. The driver was assessed and then transported to a local hospital by Community Ambulance Company with minor injuries. The vehicle was secured and all units returned in short order."
