Long Island Weather: Hour-By-Hour Forecast For Stormy Friday

Remember just a few days ago when it was nearly 80 degrees on Long Island and everyone busted out the flip flops and headed to Ralph's? Well, Friday is going to be the kind of day where you are going to want to crawl up into a ball (under an umbrella if you're outside) and wish Memorial Day would just get here already.

Temperatures on Friday won't make it out of the 50s, but the rain is the story. Up to 2 inches of rain is expected to drench Long Island by the evening, according to the National Weather Service. There's also a slight chance of thunderstorms throughout the day.

"There is potential for some minor poor drainage flooding in low lying areas today," the NWS said in a hazardous weather outlook issued for the region Friday morning. "There is a marginal to slight risk for flash
flooding."
