Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Car During Storm: PD

The man crashed his car on the median on Sunrise Highway while driving drunk Thursday morning, injuring a passenger, police said.

SAYVILLE, NY — A man was charged with a DWI after crashing into the center median on Sunrise Highway during the winter storm Thursday morning, Suffolk police said.

The man was driving a Ford Explorer on the westbound side of the highway near exit 50 when he lost control of the car and the Ford struck the center median and overturned at 8:10 a.m., police said.

A female passenger was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
