LI Weather: More Than 7,000 Power Outages as Nor'easter Arrives
BREAKING: A nasty nor'easter is knocking out power across the island. We'll let you know when the rain is expected to end.

A nor'easter has knocked out power to more than 7,000 Long Island homes Saturday morning. That number will likely continue to climb with wind gusts expected to reach 50-60 mph into the afternoon.
As of 12:09 p.m., PSEG Long Island says 7,380 of its customers are without power. A large chunk of the outages are in the Town of Huntington. See the full outage map here.
A wind advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. for Nassau and western Suffolk. A high wind warning in in effect for the East End where the strongest winds are likely.

Coastal flood warnings are in effect through the afternoon. Moderate to locally major coastal flooding from tides up to 3-and-half-feet above normal is possible. Flash flooding is no longer expected to be an issue.
Steady rain, heavy at times, will taper off to intermittent light rain or drizzle Saturday evening and tonight before ending.

Saturday- Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 58. Windy, with an east wind 25 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Saturday Night- Rain likely with a chance of drizzle, mainly before 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 48. East wind 11 to 15 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday- Partly sunny, with a high near 57. Southwest wind 13 to 15 mph.
Sunday Night- Rain likely, mainly after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Monday- Rain likely, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. Southwest wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Monday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 41.
Tuesday- Sunny, with a high near 55.
Tuesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 42.
