Joel and Emilia Camp will be opening a second location for the business this summer.
SAYVILLE, NY — A new School of Rock will be opening in Sayville this summer.
Joel and Emilia Camp opened the first School of Rock in Farmingdale in 2013. Now, the couple is looking to expand to open a second location on 832 Sunrise Highway South Service Road.
"We love what we do," Joel told Patch. "After 8 years of running Farmingdale School of Rock, we can now offer this program to more people throughout the South Shore of Long Island and parts of North Shore."

While the coronavirus pandemic has slowed the process of finding a location and doing a build-out, the two say they are very close to opening the new business.
They describe the school as a place where "kids can meet other people with similar interests, grow their musical skill and perform live shows in front of hundreds of people."

According to the couple, there is no other place that offers a way for kids to play live music all over Long Island and New York City.
"Our place is like a clubhouse for kids to meet other musicians and make new friends," Joel said.
The school doesn't just offer opportunities for kids however, the schools also offer an adult program.
For Joel, the new School of Rock is located near his hometown of Oakdale.
"Sayville and Connetquot are awesome school districts, very musical and talented. I grew up in the area as well and love the culture it brings," he said. "The people and community are peaceful, lively, and like to have fun."
In addition to knowledge of the area, he also brings his musical talents to the business as a saxophone player.
