INTERMENT: St. Lawrence Cemetery, Sayville

OBITUARY:

Martin J. McElroy, 79, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Sayville, LI, died on November 17, 2014. A resident of Sayville for more than forty years, Mr. McElroy moved to Florida full time about ten years ago. Mr. McElroy worked for NY Telephone for 35 years. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was also an avid camper and former member of the Early Bird Camping Group. Mr. McElroy is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his children, Michael of California, James and his wife Cathy of East Yaphank and Cathleen Marchese and her husband Ronald of Bayport, his daughter-in-law Lisa of Orient, his grandchildren, Kelly, Gregory, Hope, Casey, Matthew, Michael, Jenna, Dana, David, Kaitlin, James, Sean and Brianna, his great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Jaylin, as well as his sister, Grace Cannizarro of Bay Shore. He was predeceased by his son David in 2012. Friends and family will gather on Sunday, November 23rd, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in Bayport. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 24th at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church in Sayville and interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
