Sayville Chamber Starts Fundraiser To Help Small Businesses

The group is looking to raise $25,000 to help local businesses suffering due to the coronavirus crisis.

SAYVILLE, NY — The Sayville Chamber of Commerce is looking to help small businesses in the area suffering due to the coronavirus pandemic. In order to help, the organization recently started the Greater Sayville Chamber "Small Business Relief Fund" to collect donations to go back towards the small businesses.

"In light of these new and unprecedented times, we have all had to adjust to a new normal. Our Chamber has been working diligently with our Downtown Sayville/West Sayville merchants, small businesses, service providers and restaurants to provide the community with every opportunity to continue supporting them," Chamber President Eileen Tyznar wrote on the fundraiser page. "In turn, our merchants, professionals and restaurants have been taking every precaution to keep their customers safe."

The group is aiming to raise $25,000 all of which will go towards assisting business in various ways such as:

  • Helping with window signage, increasing online/social media presence, building or enhancing web sites to create better access during the COVID19 crisis
  • Helping to pay monthly overhead (rent, phone, electric) while mandates are in place
  • Assisting business owners prepare for what comes next (inventory and supplies)

As of Monday, a total of $2,715 has been raised by the community to help businesses.
