SWEEP sponsored an Earth-Day contest challenging students to repurpose the wipe containers that showed up in every classroom this year.

SWEEP sponsored an Earth-Day contest challenging students to repurpose the wipe containers that showed up in every classroom this year. The winner of a $25 Gift Card to a local business was Sayville Senior Antosh Chorowski who turned his container into a bird feeder. Runners-up created savings jars and flower vases.

“Reducing our waste and reusing products for a second life helps reduce Sayville Environmental Footprint and was a fun creative way to challenge members to come up with new ideas for single use plastics,” said Science teacher Sonja Anderson. “Thank you to all those who participated!”
