BLUE POINT, NY — Dunkin' Donuts is looking to potentially take over a former bank in Blue Point.
The coffee shop chain proposed opening its latest location on 60 Montauk Highway, previously home to a Capital One bank. The new Dunkin' would be located just down the road from the existing store on 33 Montauk Highway.
A meeting to discuss the proposal was originally scheduled by the Blue Point Community Civic Association for May 18, but had to be canceled.

A town board meeting is scheduled for June 10 but it is still unknown if the new Dunkin' Donuts will be on the agenda.
According to a report in GreaterSayville, the civic association has expressed some concerns over the project.

Among the concerns include the number of cars allowed in the drive-thru line which could affect traffic on Montauk Highway and the menu board and speaker constructed facing homes located on Blue Point Avenue, GreaterSayville reports.
