Some Sayville Students To Return To School Full-Time This Week
Starting Monday, 6th and 12th-grade students will be returning to school for in-person learning full-time after a year of online learning.
SAYVILLE, NY — Some Sayville students will be returning to school full-time starting this week.
Earlier this month, Dr. John Stimmel sent a letter to parents/guardians stating that with the among of coronavirus cases decreasing recently, officials decided that 6th and 12th-grade students can return to school for in-person learning five days a week on Monday.
Families who choose remote instruction five days a week can still have that option, but hybrid instruction will no longer be an option and students who are signed up for in-person instruction can no longer access to live-streaming of classes.

"Sayville's revised reopening plan incorporates new guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as well as information obtained from the Department of Health," the letter reads. "It will be necessary to reduce social distancing to less than 6 feet in order to return students to in-person instruction. This can be done with additional precautions and providing that COVID positivity rates remain low for both our schools and our community."
Students and staff will still be required to wear masks in the buildings.
