The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Suffolk County:
"Icy spots will be possible over much of the Lower Hudson Valley, Northeast New Jersey, and Suffolk County New York, early this morning as temperatures fall to near freezing by daybreak. This will allow any remaining moisture on untreated surfaces to refreeze, creating slick spots during the morning commute."
