A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. Monday for Long Island as a spring snowstorm impacts the region.
The highest unofficial snowfall total on the island so far reported to the National Weather Service is 3.3 inches in Wading River, but that measurement was taken at 7:45 a.m. and heavy snow fell on many parts of the island later in the morning.
The good news is the snow is winding down now from west to east and the evening commute should be much smoother than the morning one.

There is more wet weather on the way, though, Tuesday and Wednesday, but thankfully only in the form of rain.
