Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains has stepped up to help ensure that all eligible people in the community who want the COVID-19 vaccine can receive it, including those who are medically underserved. To enhance accessibility, Burke and El Centro Hispano, a White Plains not-for-profit organization serving the needs of the Hispanic population in Westchester County, have teamed up to provide a steady source of vaccines to clients of the organization.

To facilitate vaccine distribution, Burke set aside appointment times which staff at El Centro Hispano filled for their community members who do not have access to a computer for registration, or who do not speak proficient English. The program to date has resulted in 166 clients of El Centro Hispano receiving vaccinations through Burke.

Burke and El Centro Hispano urge all eligible people to receive a vaccination to protect their health and the well-being of their loved ones, friends and community members.
