Con Edison officials say they are trying to fix a power issue that is causing  people who live in the north end of the Greenacres and Fox Meadow neighborhoods to loose power. The power outages are coming from the Con Ed substation, which is located off Tompkins Road.
The substation is supposed to be switching to a backup line when power is lost, due to the high heat we have been having. Instead of switching to another line, the substation is not switching lines, causing people in the Fox Meadow and Greenacres neighborhoods to lose power.Â
"Con Edison engineers are working on a permanent solution (to fix the problem)," said Scarsdale Assistant Village Manger John Goodwin.
Con Ed says it now has a backup generator system in the area in case the substation fails again.
