Edgemont Resident Ellen Brody Among Victims in Metro-North Tragedy
Brody's SUV was caught inside as the gates lowered on the track.

Ellen Brody, 49, an Edgemont resident has been identified as the driver of the SUV who was killed in the Metro-North tragedy in Mount Pleasant, NY.
According to the Journal news, Brody was a mother of three and worked at a jewelry design shop in Chappaqua. Friends of Brody that the Journal News spoke with described her as a wonderful and caring person adding that she was a great mom.
Brody and her husband Alan, a South African native, were a prominent Edgemont family, the NY Daily News reports. They were active in the Jewish organization, Chabad of the Rivertowns. The couple have two daughters and a son.

Brody was an alumna of the University of Albany, SUNY.
Brody’s co-worker Virginia Shasha told Eyewitness News whoever Brody encountered in life always left smiling.
