Events for the Weekend in the Scarsdale Area
Here are things to do on a pre-Christmas weekend.
It will be a little drier on Saturday and Sunday, which means that it is a good chance to get out and about. This pre-Christmas weekend gives you plenty of opportunity with many events going on, some seasonal and some not. Here are some things to do:
Music Festival and Holiday Boutique: The Friends of the Hoff-Barthelson Music School will hold its annual Holiday Music Festival and holiday boutique on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the festival will include vendors selling their wares, raffles, and music by the school’s ensembles. “Will Dance for Food” Fundraiser in Bedford: Several dance companies are joining forces for “Will Dance for Food,” a fundraiser to benefit the Food Bank for Westchester. “Harry and Snowman” Fundraiser: Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship will present a special screening of the documentary “Harry and Snowman” at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Bow Tie Cinemas in Mount Kisco. The film is about a man who bought a broken-down horse off a slaughter truck and transformed him into a world-class show jumper. All proceeds go to Endeavor’s programs and services. Holiday Concert at West Point: There will be two free concerts at the United States Military Academy at West Point at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The West Point Holiday show features the Concert Band, the Benny Havens Band, and the Hellcats. The concerts are at Eisenhower Hall on Pitcher road at West Point. For more information, click here.

Charity Warehouse Sale in Elmsford: Two’s Company will hold the last day of its warehouse sale for charity at their facility in Elmsford on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The company sells home décor, fashion accessories, and gifts. Fifty percent of the proceeds for the sale will go to The Innocence Project and Volunteer New York. The warehouse is located at 275 Clearbrook Road in Elmsford. For further information, click here.
Indoor Farmers market in Pleasantville: The Pleasantville Farmers Market will be open indoors on Saturday at the Pleasantville Middle School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market is the largest year-round farmers market in Westchester. A Dickensian Christmas at Wainwright House: Wainwright House in Rye will have a Dickens of a Holiday on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The house will be decked out for the holidays by the area’s top floral designers. The event includes a holiday shopping boutique, Christmas carolers, arts and crafts for the kids, and photos with Santa, as well as a horse-drawn wagon ride. “Get the Last Word In” in Peekskill: The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art will present a panel discussion on how to promote your art from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Then, from 4 to 6 p.m. Writing the Walls II, a collaboration between poets and artists, will be presented, with a reception to follow. Choral Holiday Concert: The Westchester Choral Society will present a Holiday Concert featuring Bach’s Advent Cantata, along with carols and songs of the season.
