Funeral Arrangements Set for Scarsdale Doctor Who Died in Fire

SCARSDALE, NY — Funeral services have been set for a Scarsdale physician who was killed in a house fire Sunday.

Dr. John . Salimbene died on his 85th birthday in a blaze that is still under investigation.

According to information on the website of Westchester Funeral Home of Eastchester, visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 8 Carman Rd. in Scarsdale.

No information was given for where he will be interred.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire is “undetermined” due to the amount of damage to the house, according to the Journal News.

Salimbene's body was not found until Monday. The fire started around 3:20 p.m. in the two-story home.

Marie Salimbene, his wife, was rescued from the blaze and was treated for burns at a hospital.
