Gas Prices Are Down in Scarsdale (But Here’s How to Find the Lowest Price Around)
Prices for gas were lowest for the July 4 weekend in a decade.

The price of a gallon of gas almost always goes up in the summertime, but this summer seems to be the exception to the rule. This is good news because summer is the time for heading out to the beach or lake and for road trips in general.
According to a post on AAA’s blog on gas prices, gas prices over the July 4 weekend were the lowest since 2005. Gas prices have fallen for a couple of weeks, the organization notes. Which is good because AAA estimates that 43 million American drivers were on the road last weekend.
New York’s gas prices (An average of about $2.42) are lower than California ($2.91) and Hawaii ($2.82), which lead the nation, according to the AAA’s information on gas prices. But they are about 50 cents higher than in South Carolina ($1.96), home to the national cheapest gas.
