Greenburgh To Take Ownership Of Historic Odell House
The signing event will include a brief history of the house.

HARTSDALE, NY — The Greenburgh town board is set to vote Wednesday to take ownership of the historic Odell House, which played an important role in the Revolutionary War. The board will meet at 7 p.m. July 10 at the Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters on Ridge Road in Hartsdale to authorize Supervisor Paul Feiner to sign the contract transferring ownership of the property to the town.
The president of the New York chapter of the Sons of American Revolution Bob Stackpole has been authorized by his membership to sign the contract at the same time.
Feiner and Stackpole will be signing the agreement using an antique desk found on the property.

The house was the location in 1781 in which George Washington and General Rochambeau met for six weeks to plan the winning strategy of the American Revolution.
The event will include a brief history of the house from its construction until it was given by the last Odell to the SAR in 1965 and an outline of plans for future restoration.
