Hoff-Barthelson Music School Offers Double Reed Making Workshop
Public Invited to Hands-on Workshop on the Art of Making Reeds for the Bassoon and Oboe
Trouble making reeds? Hoff-Barthelson Music School starts off the new year with an intensive reed making workshop with Hoff-Barthelson faculty members Elizabeth Condon (oboe) and Janet Grice (bassoon). The workshop, suitable for the beginner to advanced student, will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale. The workshop is free and open to the public.
Participants will get hands-on practice in making and adjusting reeds and learn more about the idiosyncrasies of the oboe and bassoon. Construct, scrape and shape reeds to suit your needs! Reed tools are not required for the workshop, but a list can be provided for those who wish to use their own tools by contacting Janet Grice at jangrice@yahoo.com.
