Jane S. Goldwasser: Board Chair of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson

The Scarsdale resident was 69.

Jane Salmon Goldwasser died on July 17, 2015, surrounded by loving family. She was 69.

She was born in Evanston, IL to Jack Salmon and Grace Fabbri Salmon. Jane attended Immaculata High School and graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Advertising and Iona College with her MBA in Marketing.

In 1968, she married Hank Goldwasser in Berwyn, PA. They lived a full and happy marriage until Hank’s death in 2008.

Jane had a long career in marketing research culminating in her position as president and CEO of New Directions Consulting, Inc.

Jane had a deep love of volunteerism and was a Girl Scout leader for over 25 years, serving in many positions up to and including Council Board Chair in Girl Scouts Westchester*Putnam and Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson.

She held many positions within the Qualitative Research Consultants Association and the Creative Education Foundation community. She enjoyed her time attending and leading at many conferences, particularly time spent mentoring in youth programs.

Jane’s deep faith led her to become a Eucharistic minister at several parishes. She was a witness for the McKenna Tithing Ministry with Hank.

Jane is survived by her daughter Missy Carvin and her husband Brian and their daughter Abby and by her son Jonathan Goldwasser and his wife Emily. She is also survived by her sister, brothers, and a large extended family.

Jane loved her family, her faith, her creativity, and getting her way. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to one of her favorite causes -- Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, the Capuchin Franciscans Province of St. Mary or a charity of your choice.
