ELMSFORD, NY — A pedestrian was struck and injured on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Village of Elmsford Tuesday. State police said, around 1:20 p.m., a four-car motor vehicle crash happened on the northbound parkway near the westbound I-287 entrance ramp.

It closed both the center and right lanes, police said.

Shortly after the crash, a 2009 Ford Econoline minibus, belonging to All County Bus LLC and operated by Crissfanny Y. Acosta Hernandez, 31, of Yonkers, was traveling north on the parkway.

The minibus struck two vehicles and a pedestrian involved in the first crash.

Police said the initial investigation found Acosta Hernandez passed a 2020 BMW X5 on the right, which was blocking part of the center and right lanes after the initial collision.

Acosta Hernandez struck the BMW and the Jersey barrier before striking the BMW's driver, Richard A. Snisky, 85, of Thornwood.

He was standing in the roadway between the BMW and Jersey barrier.

Acosta Hernandez then struck a second vehicle before coming to rest, police said.

Snisky was taken to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries that were believed to be non-life-threatening.

The Sprain Brook Parkway was reopened around 5:35 p.m. after the scene had been fully processed. The investigation remains ongoing.
