SCARSDALE, NY — Multiple lawsuits alleging students at a Scarsdale Catholic school were molested by a former sports coach at the school. Named in the lawsuits were Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scarsdale, the New York Archdiocese and former coach Edwin Gaynor.

Barbara Hart, the attorney for David Fox, one of the five former students who filed lawsuits, said the victims were age 8 to 14, News 12 reported.

Fox said he informed school officials about being molested by Gaynor, but the monsignor said he was lying and threw him out of his office.

The lawsuit also claims the Archdiocese of New York was aware of the abuse and moved Gaynor to other schools instead of dealing with the issue, the Journal News said.

Fox also said he witnessed other boys on Gaynor's lap during gym class.
