Scarsdale Forum Recommends Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Ban
The forum's report also said fall leaves shouldn't be vacuumed and mulch mowing should be encouraged.
SCARSDALE, NY — The Scarsdale Forum's Sustainability, Municipal Services and Climate Resilience committees are recommending implementing a ban on gas leaf blowers, eliminating the vacuuming of fall leaves and encouraging mulch mowing in the village.
The forum issued a report that said meaningful noise and air pollution regulation, improved public health and ecologically and environmentally sustainable practices would be achieved by the actions.
Climate Resilience Committee Chairman Timothy Foley said the committees have laid out with great detail the present-day threats to Scardale's residents, with regard to public health, climate and the environment, noise pollution, traffic safety and the general welfare.
