SCARSDALE, NY — New York residents are asked to vote on their local school district’s budget and board of education May 21. Here are fast facts about the election in Scarsdale.
School District
Voting information
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Scarsdale Middle School.
Board of Education
Three candidates are vying for three seats. They are Karen Ceske, Carl Finger and Ron Schulhof.

School budget
- Proposed for 2019-20: $160.7 million
- Increase over current spending: 1.86 percent
- Tax levy increase: 2.27 percent
Voters will also be asked to approve two propositions: whether board vacancies should be at-large instead of specific seats for all future elections beginning with the 2020-21 school year and whether voter registration should be permitted year round, during regular business house instead of two designated days the week prior to the vote.
