Scarsdale Seeks Input For Redeveloping Freightway Site
The village is interested in redeveloping a downtown area by the Scarsdale train station.
SCARSDALE, NY - Scarsdale is seeking input from residents on redeveloping an area called the Freightway Site, a location that it calls "an underutilized area adjacent to the Scarsdale Metro North Railroad Station."
The Freightway Site, according to the village, currently hosts roughly 700 commuter-parking spaces and has an "aging" parking garage that is five stories tall.
Redevelopment of the site was eyed as part of the village's 2010 update to its master plan, which provides the overarching vision for land uses.

"The Village recognizes the importance of continued planning for this site to ensure that any future redevelopment enhances Village Center and meets local needs," a statement reads.
To this end, Scarsdale has convened a steering committee and is conducting a study. An online survey is now live, and walking tours of the premises are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
