Woman Reports Hit-and-Run, But Loses License: Police
New York City woman says her BMW was side-swiped by a truck in Scarsdale.

A woman contacted Scarsdale police last week saying she was the victim of a hit-and-run accident, but ended up losing her license plates after police learned she wasn't allowed to be on the road, authorities said.
The woman—a 46-year-old New York City residents—told cops last Monday that she was side-swiped by a truck at the Burgess Road and Post Road intersection, police said. The woman said the truck damaged her side mirror, but drove off without stopping.
While entering the alleged hit-and-run into the system, Scarsdale police ran the woman's drivers license—and learned her BMW's registration had been suspended just days before due to insurance issues.

Police then seized the car's plates, issued the woman a violation and returned the vehicle to the her home.
