3 People In Stolen Jeep Left Scene Of Crash: Police

SHIRLEY, NY — The search is one for a trio in a stolen Jeep who left the scene of a crash that left three injured, police said.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police seventh precinct crime section officers are asking for the public’s help to identify and find three people who were involved in two larcenies, as well as the crash, in October, police said.
Two passengers in a 2017 Jeep Cherokee that was stolen in the Bronx earlier on October 12 stole items from a gas station in Holbrook, police said. A short time later, the driver of the Jeep stole gas from another gas station in Middle Island, police said.

Next, the driver of the Jeep, who was traveling south on William Floyd Parkway, went through a red light and crashed into a 2008 Nissan traveling west on Montauk Highway at 10:35 p.m., police said.
The driver of the Jeep fled the scene, police said. Three people in the Nissan were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital, police said.
