'Floyd Strong' Shirts Sold To Help Teens In Need
Funds were raised to help teens not just with necessities such as jackets and gloves, but also, to assist seniors in need with yearbooks.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — During an unprecedented year, the William Floyd High School community has come together to help teens in need.
William Floyd High School recently teamed up with Long Island-based Carleton Clothing to produce and sell a limited edition “Floyd Strong” T-shirt to employees. The effort raised $2,500 to benefit Billy Floyd’s Closet, an anonymous group to help high school students in need with necessities like jackets, winter gloves, socks, toiletries and more, the district said.
Billy Floyd’s Closet also provides assistance to high school seniors who need a hand by helping with yearbook purchases and with costs associated with various senior events and activities, the district added.

The T-shirts feature the phrase “Floyd Strong” with the WF logo and Carleton Clothing’s Long Island Waterman fishbone logo, a symbol representing people skilled in all aspects of various water-based activities such as swimming, surfing, fishing, clamming, sailing, paddle boarding and boating.
“We thank Carleton for their partnership and those who have purchased T-shirts to support this worthwhile effort,” said Robert Felicetta, assistant principal at William Floyd High School. “These funds will go a long way toward helping students in need.”
