Homeless Man Struck By Car In Suffolk: Police
The man, 71, was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, police say.
SHIRLEY, NY —A homeless man, 71, was hit by a car in Shirley Saturday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 8 p.m. when the driver of a 2012 Hyundai, who was traveling west on Montauk Highway near Aletta Place, struck the man, who was crossing the street.
The man was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with non-life -threatening injuries; the driver of the Hyundai was not hurt, police said.
