House Razed As War On Blight Continues In Shirley
"We have waged a war against suburban blight, and we are winning that war for our communities."

SHIRLEY, NY — Brookhaven Town remains committed to its promise to fight blight in Shirley.
On Tuesday, Councilman Dan Panico was joined by Tim Rothang, chief of staff at Suffolk County's 3rd legislative district, for the razing of another "zombie house” located on Roneck Court in Shirley.
The house, a parcel that had been vacant for many years, was seized by Suffolk County as a property tax forfeiture and transferred to the town, officials said. The house was demolished by the town’s department of recycling and sustainable materials management and the land was cleared of all debris, town officials added.
