Long Island Man Found Shot To Death In Home: Suffolk Police

Josue Bedell, 47, was found with a fatal gunshot wound inside of his home on the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic, police said.

MASTIC, NY — A man was found shot to death inside of his home on the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic on Sunday, Suffolk County police said.

The family of Josue Bedell called 911 just after 10 a.m. requesting a "wellness check," and when officers from the 7th Precinct responded to his home on Poospatuck Lane, they found him dead from a gunshot wound, police said.

Bedell’s family had not been unable to get in contact with him since Saturday, according to police.

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Bedell’s death to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392, or Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline, at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls to police will be kept confidential.
