Man Seriously Injured In Sunrise Highway Rollover Crash
Police have ID'ed man seriously hurt in the crash Wednesday afternoon.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Lindenhurst man was seriously injured after he was thrown from his pickup truck in a rollover crash on Sunrise Highway Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 4:35 p.m. between Exit 58 near William Floyd Parkway and Exit 59, near Horseblock Road.
Abdul Shehu, 47, was driving a 2008 Ford pickup westbound on Sunrise Highway about a half mile east of the Horseblock Road off ramp when he lost control of the vehicle which overturned, ejecting him, police said.

Shehu was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with serious injuries, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Suffolk County fifth squad at 631-854-8552.
