Man Shot While Driving In Shirley: Police

The man was shot through the door of his pickup by someone he knew, police say.

SHIRLEY, NY — A man was shot in the leg while driving in Shirley Wednesday, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, the incident took place at 3:05 p.m. in the southbound lane of the William Floyd Parkway at Surrey Circle. A man, 21, was driving a 2007 GMC pickup when someone he knew in a gray sedan shot him through the door, striking his leg, police said.

The man was transported to a local hospital with a minor injury to his left leg, police said.
