Garcia shot and killed Bliss around 3:35 p.m. Wednesday in front of 122 Main St., police said. Bliss Jr. was found on the ground with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, police said.

And now his mother needs help to bury him. "Due to the coronavirus last year, my husband was laid off for most of the year and funds are not available to be able to lay my boy to rest and give him a proper funeral."

To her son, she wrote: "David, Mommy will love you always and forever. I know Papa and Papa Jack welcomed you into the gates of heaven and to eternal peace. RIP my baby boy."
